On Foot
Sometimes the best way to see the wonders of the island is the old-fashioned way—on foot. That way you can peer into every corner and peek under every leaf.

Harrison's Cave www.harrisonscaves.com: One of the Seven Wonders of Barbados, this is the island's most popular attraction and it's easy to see why. The underground cavern is a magical maze of stalactites and stalagmites, reaching to form limestone columns, and crystal waters cascading down into emerald pools—like a visit to Middle Earth.

Barbados Wildlife Reserve : Walk along trails through the forest where green monkeys, otters, deer, tortoises and other wildlife roam freely. There is also an Aviary, an Iguana Sanctuary and a Serpentarium.

Spring Vale Eco-Heritage Museum: A great place to go green, this former sugar plantation on 200 sweet acres has been transformed into a folk museum with a refreshing nature trail.

Joe's River Tropical Rain Forest : Nature lovers will appreciate the chance to wander through 85 woodland acres of Cabbage Palms, White Woods, Mahogany, and those legendary Bearded Fig Trees.

Farley Hill National Park : Surrounding the ruins of an opulent 19th C. great house, the park offers a breathtaking east coast vista and some great escapes into the shade of towering mahogany trees to picnic under or cuddle.

Shopping : Come on—you know some people consider this a sport. And it certainly can be thrilling. A most impressive array of jewelry and watches, crystal for table (Waterford) or bijou (Swarovski), swimwear (of course!), designer labels at The Runway, or casual wear at Up Beat. Not to mention a host of local ware from pottery to TK.   The best part?   Barbados is the Tax Free Haven of the Caribbean ! You can't beat that deal.

Cricket : Barbados boasts a number of great players that is a source of much national pride, including lone living national hero, Sir Garfield Sobers. Catch a match—you might even learn to understand it

Golf is taken very seriously in Barbados: Of the 5 courses, 4 are PGA standard and 3 are world class—and there are more to come. It's no secret that Tiger Woods loves to golf here (he got married here too!)
