We've found 10 reasons in each of our top 10 categories for making Barbados your one-stop wedding world (and, of course, honeymoons too)—to make it easy for you to find the most exciting, most romantic, most memorable experiences for this gateway to the rest of your life together.

Naturally, one of the main attractions on Barbados is their 70 miles of glorious beaches. Because of its unique position as the easternmost Caribbean island, Barbados offers 3 unique waterfronts to choose from: the dramatic Atlantic Ocean on the east coat, the tranquil turquoise Caribbean Sea to the west, and the south coast where the two meet in a coupling of swaying palms and swirling waters (a windsurfer's delight).

Here, we've highlighted our top 11 stellar beaches to set foot on (but there are scores to explore on this lovely island—you may find your own favourites to rival our list!)

1. Crane Beach – The rugged cliffs and rolling dunes of this southeast coast beach add to a spectacular view. And the sparkling waters lap on to its stunningly singular feature, the unique color of the sand—a lovely light pink.

  2. Batts Rock – A charming stretch of beach on the tranquil west coast, with shady trees and a view of the harbour, has facilities but is still secluded

  3. Paynes Bay – By the chic Sandy Lane resort, the superb scenery and powdery white sand make for a beautiful—and popular—spot. (Nearby, Sandy Lane Beach and Gibbs Beach are other west coast spectaculars.)

  4. Oyster Bay – A petite beach area that cannot be accessed from the road, but the picturesque and secluded setting make the little extra effort well worth it.

  5. Reed's Bay – A long stretch of sand along the west coast which is slowly becoming more popular. There's very little development in this area so an air of being secluded still hovers. Relish Reed's while you can.

  6. Brighton Beach - Also known as Malibu Beach, this beach area is long and wide, with a nice view to the west and lots of action! Weisers beach bar offers the amenities and access to water sports. The Rum Distillery is also nearby.

  7. Carlisle Bay – A pretty and picturesque crescent on the south coast, with an expansive view of the yachts and sailboats anchored in the harbor, the lights of Bridgetown, and beyond. Excellent for snorkeling enthusiasts because of the all the submerged old wrecks.

  8. Dover Beach – A wonderful south coast stretch of beach with sparkling white sands and ideal swimming conditions. Small to mid-size waves make body surfers and boogie boarders happy. Grab a Hobie Cat or kayak for an on-sea adventure.

  9. Foul Bay – A special cove not far from the Crane Beach with a sweet fleet of local fishing boats. The wide expanse of sand with crashing Atlantic waves makes for a wildly romantic picnic spot. BYO food and bev to create a personalized private tête-à-tête.

  10. Bottom BayAn idyllic tropical beach complete with crisp breezes animating the coconut palms, an overhanging cliff, a cave, and frothy aquamarine waves lapping the pearlescent soft sand of this southeast beach.

  11.

Bath Beach – Ideal for idling in the ocean because of the large offshore reef that offers natural protection and a breakwater for the waves. Park your car, stop at the snack bar and relax with the locals.
