Barbados is filled with hidden wonders and romantic idylls which will make your heart burst with joy or pound with excitement.

1. Ragged Point – A perfect spot for viewing the spectacular scenery, Ragged Point's position at the most eastern edge of the island affords a view of nearly all of the East Coast of Barbados from the East Point Lighthouse.

  2. Sunday Champagne Brunch at La Mer restaurant – the laid back and leisurely atmosphere augments the charming setting, perfect for the couple that wants to make their way languidly through the day.

  3. Harbour Master Starlit Cruise – the cruise itself is romantic, with the added thrill of catching sight of flying fish as they leap out of the water, and then there's the floorshow.

  4. Turners Hall Woods – No fairy tale is complete without an enchanted forest. Here you'll find one of the purest places in the island, where the huge gnarly trees and other original vegetation remain untouched since the island was discovered in 1627.

  5. Swimming with turtles – On the west coast, not far from the Almond Beach Hotel, you can dip into the warm waters and float alongside the turtles--a truly magical experience. They will even take food from your hand. Boats trips can be arranged by your hotel.

  6. Martins Bay –Take the plunge down from Hackleton's Cliff and its dizzying views to discover this unspoiled little fishing village renowned for its lobster catches.

  7. A visit to Speightstown is like stepping back in time. This authentic Bajan fishing village is rich in history; back in the 17th century it was one the main ports that connected Barbados with the "mother country," England, and where the citizens refused to accept Oliver Cromwell over the monarch.

  8. Cove Bay – Hidden along the coast in the parish of St. Lucy lies a remote and romantic picnic spot that takes a little effort to get to, but it's well worth it: your reward will be stellar scenery and the pounding rhythm of the waves to hypnotize your senses as you relax under swaying coconut palms.

  9. Have your picture taken by The Baobab Tree, also called the Monkey Bread Tree. Included in Michael Whittakers Seven Wonders of Barbados , this magnificent tree is the size of a small house--the largest (more than 51 feet around) is in Queen's Park in Bridgetown--but the other is more off the beaten track (over 44 feet in circumference) can be found on Warren's Road in St. Michael. If love is a tree that grows, this signifies a very solid relationship!

  10. The Crane beach and hotel terrace? around the time of a full moon just before 6 PM. You can watch the moon appear to rise out of the water.
